Betting Odds Can Make Monday’s Presidential Debate More Entertaining

The first of three Presidential debates between Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is set for Monday night. In recent years, viewers have played ‘drinking games‘ in order to make these sometimes tedious debates more palatable. There’s now another way to add a bit more excitement to Presidential Debates–by betting on them.

The oddsmakers at SportsBettingExperts.com have come up with a list of proposition wagers for the first Presidential Debate. The topics of these bets range from the substantive issues discussed by the candidates to what color tie Donald Trump will wear (‘red’ is the favorite at -250). Hillary Clinton’s wardrobe is also open for betting with ‘blue’ being the top choice for her jacket color at -175. Once the debate begins, the discussion is likely to turn immediately to terrorism and domestic security. In light of this, oddsmakers have made ‘securing America’ as a -2000 favorite for ‘Which topic will be debated first?’ Presidential debates often address nebulous and arbitrary themes like the ‘mood of the nation’ or the ‘direction of the country’ and the prop bet odds have ‘direction of America’ at +500 for the initial topic the candidates will address.

If you find either candidate especially convincing you also have the opportunity to place a bet on the party that will win November’s Presidential election. Right now, the Democratic Party is a -215 favorite with the Republican Party priced at +175. A single debate is unlikely to determine the outcome of the election but it can create a swing in momentum. This bet is a great way to take advantage of a particularly strong (or especially weak) performance by either candidate.
