Hell’s Kitchen Season 17 with Gordon Ramsey Episode 10 Betting Odds

–’Hell’s Kitchen’ hosted by Chef Gordon Ramsay is entering it’s 17th season on Fox.

–The season 17 winner will become head chef at the new Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen Restaurant at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

–Episode 10 of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ Season 17 will air on December 15, 2017 at 8:00 PM Eastern on Fox

If you’ve ever worked in a kitchen–or for that matter in any job that requires a high level of teamwork–you know the sickening feeling of a day where nothing goes right. If not, you’ve no doubt seen sports teams have those types of games. No one is on their game and things quickly fall apart. That’s basically what happened to both teams in Episode 10 of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’.

Van Hurd got the boot from Chef Ramsey but there could have been any number of contestants eliminated. The real issue was a horrible dinner service. Both teams made it through service but Ramsey declared both ‘losers’ and asked each for two nominees for elimination. Hurd never actually got nominated by his team (though that possibility was discussed) but Ramsey called him out and eventually gave him his walking papers saying: “Van’s always had one of the loudest voices here. Tonight, not only did he lose his voice but also his dream of becoming my next head chef.”

LITTLE CHANGE IN SEASON 17 ‘TO WIN’ ODDS

Van’s primary misdeed was lack of communication which really took place in one incident. Chef Ramsey asks for time on the salmon Van is cooking and either doesn’t hear or doesn’t respond. That he would end up overcooking the salmon sure didn’t help things. Earlier in the show there had been communication issues of a different sort with members of the red team bickering over all kinds of minor issues. At one point, Ramsey sends the entire team into the pantry to work things out. Later, Barbie and Elise get a ‘time out’. If there’s a message from Van’s ouster–teamwork is important but even argumentative communication is better than no communication.

Since I never had Van as a significant player to win the entire season the odds only require a minor tweak. Nick Peters Bond continues to improve week after week and remains the favorite just ahead of Elise Harris and Milly Medley. Worth nothing that the latter two contestants were both nominated for elimination this week. Since both here for relatively minor issues I don’t expect any long term collateral damage to their chances. Dana Cohen was our initial ‘to win’ favorite and she hasn’t so much done anything wrong as she hasn’t done much other than ‘maintain’. With several other contestants showing improvement that’s not going to get it done no matter how good you look in a bikini. At this point, Dana has the advantage of looking like the most consistently competent member of the red team. And thinking on more of a ‘meta’ level, she’s got the persona of a chef that would fit perfectly in Ramsey’s Las Vegas property.
