38th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards aka ‘The Razzies’ Betting Odds

–The Golden Raspberry Awards, better known as the ‘Razzies’ recognize the ‘worst in film’.

– The first ‘Razzie Awards’ were held in 1980 making this the 38th year.

– ‘Razzies’ are awarded in nine separate categories.

Most entertainment industry award shows purport to honor the ‘best’ of their particular art. Whether or not they accomplish this is a different matter, but that’s the general idea. At the other end of the spectrum you’ll find the ‘Golden Raspberry Awards‘, informally known as the ‘Razzie Awards’ or just plain ‘Razzies’. The Razzies are held every year the day before the Academy Awards and recognize the nadir of last year’s crop of movies and the performances therein. From inauspicious origins as part of a pot luck Oscar party at the home of Los Angeles publicist John J. B. Wilson the Razzie Awards have endured and even grown to the point where most film buffs recognize their status as the ‘bizarro world‘ counterpart to the Academy Awards. Or to quote E-Online, the Razzies have become ‘the foremost authority on all things that suck on the big screen.‘ The 2018 Razzie Awards will take place on March 3, 2018 just one day before the Academy Awards as is tradition.

THE PROCESS OF FINDING HOLLYWOOD’S WORST WORK

The Razzie Award itself is a statue with a ‘golf ball sized raspberry’ sitting atop a Super 8 film reel and spray painted gold that the organizers refer to as ‘Tinsel Town’s Tackiest Trophy’. It’s presented to the highest vote getter in nine categories that cover the worst films and performances of the year. The Razzie Awards’ own press release serves up this year’s nominees though this year is curiously free from some of the more bizarre categories of years’ past like ‘Most Tiresome Tabloid Targets’ or ‘Worst Movie Trend’.

Here are the SPORTS BETTING EXPERTS betting odds in all nine categories for The 38th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards–aka the ‘Razzies’:
