Super Bowl Post Game Proposition Bets and ‘Specials’

–The Super Bowl is the biggest day of the year for North American sports betting.

–Prop bets are now the biggest part of the Super Bowl weekend ‘handle’ at sports books.

–These ‘post game action’ props cover a wide range of situations not related to the actual Super Bowl game play.

This is my favorite type of Super Bowl proposition bet. In Europe, they’re called ‘novelty bets’ or ‘non sporting bets’. They’re essentially wagering propositions on anything and everything *except* the outcome of a sporting event, in this case the Super Bowl.

It’s almost a cliche now that every media outlet–sports or otherwise–has to goof on what they consider ‘crazy’ or ‘zany’ Super Bowl prop bets. The reality is that these unorthodox bets can sometimes offer tremendous betting value. In many cases, the linesmaker is just guessing when he sets the numbers. At the same time, there’s often a way to find strong information to use for handicapping be it statistical or anecdotal. There’s a wealth of information about every topic imaginable on the Internet. It’s not particularly difficult to find information relevant to just about any ‘wacky’ proposition bet you’ll come across.

The ‘post game’ bets cover a number of topics including the play by play commentary, the pre-game show, the post game activity, TV ratings, Nevada sportsbook betting handle and even the Tweeting behavior of President Donald Trump. I’ve tried to be amusing (if not funny) with a number of these props but even those are based in sound statistical analysis. With that in mind, here’s our list of ‘post game proposition bets’ and ‘Super Bowl specials’:
